Start your Thanksgiving with tradition, fitness, and community at the 19th Annual Laveen Turkey Trot! This family-friendly event has become a holiday favorite for runners and walkers of all ages, bringing the community together before the big feast.

Choose your distance and join the fun:

1 Mile Fun Run – Perfect for kids, families, and those looking for a lighthearted trot.
5K Run/Walk – A chip-timed 3.1-mile course for casual joggers and competitive runners alike.
10K Run – A scenic 6.2-mile challenge for those ready to go the extra distance.

With festive costumes, leashed pets, and a lively atmosphere, the Laveen Turkey Trot is the best way to kick off your Thanksgiving morning. Whether you’re racing for a personal record, walking with friends, or trotting in a turkey hat, this annual tradition is all about celebrating health, happiness, and community.

There is no packet pickup or onsite registration offered on race day for this event. Instead, use either pre-packet pickup or optionally select to have your race packet mailed directly to you for a $15 shipping and handling fee when registering before November 16, 2025. Packages begin shipping on the Saturday before the event.

Race Shirt

Secure your race shirt during packet pickup, by mail when you optionally select to have your race packet mailed to you. The race shirt is also included with the 1-Mile Fun Run.

Finisher Medal

Secure your finisher medal as you cross the finish line. The finisher medal is for all 1 Mile, 5K & 10K participants.

Directions

Enter event on south 59th Ave off of W Baseline Rd. From the 202 freeway, exit on W Baseline Rd, head east to 59th Ave, turn south on 59th Ave, turn right into Laveen Park Place.

Parking

Race parking is allowed only in the designated parking areas in front of Michael's and TJ Maxx. Additional parking is available east of 59th Ave in the adjacent shopping center.
